unable to access network mapped drives from elevated command prompt & powershell (Windows 11 Pro 22621.1702)

I went to work on some files on an external HDD connected directly to my home network but discovered I had trouble accessing the files from the networked mapped drive. The issue is not hardware, network, or OS based. The issue is caused by trying to access the mapped drive from an elevated console session. the mapped drives are accessible if the console session is not elevated. This affects cmd.exe, PowerShell, and windows terminal. I am looking to see if this issue is happening for others, or if something has gone sideways in my windows 11 install. at this point I am just gathering data to build a report to submit to Microsoft. If something in Windows has gone sideways, then no report needs to be made, I just need to do a repair install, or fix whatever went wrong.

not familiar with this registry edit. I will try it and see. Interesting, this means that the MS windows dev teams have not fixed an issue that has existed since Win7 SP1

My UAC setting is set to defaults. I don't need to enter a username or password unless i am accessing something over the network, such as a mapped network drive, or another computer (via remote desktop). but anytime UAC needs to ask/confirm anything for administrative access, only a yes/no prompt is given. It's how i prefer things. I don't need the increased security of entering the admin password. I am running a small home network, not an IT center/server room.

So, i don't know why i am affected by this issue.

    23H2 - 22631.3085.

The value perfectly works fine here (after a reboot).
