Asks 'Create a pin' but then this states 'Something went wrong'. When you select 'skip' it takes you back to login and just stuck in a loop. I can log into microsoft account via another laptop so it isn't locked but cannot avoid the 'Create a pin' step or revert to local login as I can't get past login screen. Running Windows 10.

I am basically locked out of my PC with A level revision to do

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Sleep and Power on, off

    Hey, how you doing?

Thank you for contacting us and welcome to the Microsoft Community.

My name is Vitor. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

If you try to sign in to Windows and receive the error message, "We can't sign in to your account" follow theses steps bellow.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows

Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers.

    1. On the Windows sign-in screen, press and hold the Shift key while you select Power > Restart.
    2. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    3. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in safe mode. Or if you'll need to use the internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
    4. Restart your device in normal mode and sign in again with your original profile. Check to see if your settings and files are restored. (You might need to restart your device more than once.)

    Thanks

    Vitor S.

    Hi

Followed the above process, took around 45mins and it is still asking for the Microsoft Account sign in with the same original issue.

Still unable to access the PC.

    Thanks for the answer.

In that case, try to do a Windows restore keeping your data. When finished, try to access your account again.

    1. On the Windows sign-in screen, press and hold the Shift key while you select Power > Restart.
    2. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files.
    3. Reset this PC.

    Hi,

    Thanks for this.

In safe mode when you try to login it comes up with a box stating

'Search for app in the Store?

You need to install an app for this task.

Would you like to search for one in the store?'

Either option 'yes' or 'no' just takes you back to sign in again then back to above message.

Unfortunately I still cannot access my PC
