Win + Shift + S stops working after one use

This is happening for a few weeks now, when I boot my PC the shortcut works, but only ONE time. After I use it one single time it doesn't anymore, windows even show's on my cursor icon that it is trying to load something but it refuses to complete it, if I reboot my pc I get my single use again, if I don't, the shortcut won't work until I go to the task manager, completely end 'Windows Explorer' and open it again, after that I get one single extra use of the shortcut.

How can I fix this?

Hello Tayke1. The solution that I found that worked for me is actually very simple. I saw a youtube video that told me what to do.

    1. open up Task manager
    2. locate a file named Windows Explorer
    3. Right click and press Restart then wait for it to do its thing.

That should fix the problem of snip&sketch not working or the shortcut not working.

If that did not work I suggest you follow this YouTube video.

    Hi Tayke,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Let us try Resetting Snip and Sketch app, powering Win+Shift+S. I assume no updates are available in the Microsoft Store for the same.

Open the Start menu and search for “Apps & features”.

Click on “Apps & features” from the search results.

Scroll down and find “Snip & Sketch” in the list of apps.

Click on “Snip & Sketch” and select “Advanced options”.

    Click on the “Reset” button.

Restart your PC and tell us if the issue resolves.

    Hope this helps.

    Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.2846

This was working just fine for me last week. This week, I am experiencing the same issue: Use it one time and it stops working. This was reliable for me until today.

    I am using Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.3693

I have the same question, but I have found something more related.

There is a process you can see in task manager, called "屏幕截图“ in Chinese, may be "Screen Snipping" in English, who has a sub exe named ScreenClippingHost.exe.

If you kill or terminate it by right click, the "win+shift+s" shall be available, but just as you say, only work for once.

I don't know if this will be useful for MS to fix this issue.
