Finding my customer lock screen image

Some years ago I got an extra wide monitor. I found an image I liked, and made it the background when the system is locked. That was at least a couple of generations of Windows ago. I have thousands upon thousands of jpeg files on the computer. I would like to find the jpeg file that is my locked screen background. When I open the Personalization > Lock Screen page in the Settings app I see the picture, along with some that look like they came with Windows. Right-clicking shows me nothing. Obviously Windows knows where it is, but I can't see any way for Windows to tell me where it is. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Roy,

The recent Windows Spotlight lock screen images are stored in the following folder:

    C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets

Ref: How to Save Windows 10/11 Spotlight Wallpapers

Copy all the files in that folder to a temp folder on your desktop.

Add the .JPG extension to those files and preview each one. One of them is your current lock screen wallpaper.

    Thanks for the reply.

I had followed essentially the same instructions I found in another message. I tried it again. When I reached the folder I sorted on file size. The file I am looking for will not be small. I copied the two largest files - 139 KB and 127 KB - to a new folder, added the extension as instructed, and looked at them. They were rather small images, nowhere near the 2560 x 1080 of the image I am looking for.

I am still hoping to find it.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Roy,

Great, thanks for the update. Was the image file located under "Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets" or some other folder?

Thank you for trying to help. We can close this one out. I finally found the original photo from which the lock screen image was derived, so I no longer need to solve the mystery of where the lock screen image is stored. Here is what it looks like scaled to 10%.

    Hi Roy,

If the spotlight image is still on the computer, please post a screenshot of the miniature image (via Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen). Let me try to get the high-res image for you.
