Total Virtual Memory is HDD\SSD space allocated for temporary data storage\transfer. Virtual Memory\Page File are both on your

HDD\SSD, and it was more useful in the XP era, when having 1\2GB system RAM was a lot of RAM

Virtual Memory is only a data 'way point' that makes transferring data to system RAM very slightly quicker, and while this can help

if there is a shortage of physical RAM memory, increasing Virtual Memory beyond 12GB would not help gaming performance.

Even when the Virtual Memory\Page File is on an SSD, and your games will not use the remaining 6.5GB in any case.

    • The only way to make a noticeable improvement in gaming performance is to upgrade your graphics processor, cpu and RAM. In that order.

The gpu is the most important single component. Followed by cpu. There is no point upgrading RAM beyond 8GB if the gpu and cpu can't

processes the extra data quickly enough.

Also note that the vast majority of games (@1080\1440) don't require more than 8GB system RAM.

    Hi Joshuagb_gamer,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

The available virtual memory is the "free" virtual memory to store data.

Are you trying to restore the Windows default there?
