Issues connecting Sony WH-CH720N Bluetooth headphones to a Windows 11 laptop.

Hi,

I'm experiencing issues connecting a pair of Sony WH-CH720N Bluetooth headphones to a Windows 11 laptop. To summarise:

  1. The laptop is completely up to date as far as updates and drivers are concerned.
  2. The headphones are on the latest version of firmware.
  3. I have attempted to pair the headphones with the laptop but the device is not discovered.
  4. I have attempted a reset of the headphones (plug into charger, press Power and NC together) with no effect.
  5. I can connect the laptop via Bluetooth to a JBL Flip 6 speaker and a Panasonic SC-DM502 music system.
  6. I can connect the headphones to a Sony NW-A55L DAP and Nokia G21 smartphone.

This appears to be a common problem and I have tried all the suggestions I can find, short of a factory reset of the headphones, which I'm loathe to do while I can connect to other devices (point 6). Anything you can suggest would be much appreciated.

The headphones can't be paired to multiple devices simultaneously without using software that only goes on phones.
Your headphones might be already paired to some other device, so you can try turning on headphones, and then pressing power button again and holding it for like 10 seconds until the blue indicator starts blinking fast. Then your windows should discover it and offer to pair itself.

Or go into software and choose pair to 2 devices and try from there.

    Hi Jerry,

Apologees for the delay in responding. Deleting the Bluetooth adapter didn't work so I initialised the

headset to perform a factory reset (as per the Sony Help guide). All now working. Thank you for your

    support. Very much appreciated.

    Hi Jerry,

Thank You for the quick response.

I do not have the 'Reset' button on the Options tab, as per the following screenshot:

This is the only 'More Bluetooth Options' available. Did you mean select the 'Restore Defaults' option?

Thank you for your continued support.

Hi! Good day , Jerry here, an independent advisor. Here to help you.

Please try this, as most of the time this usually fix bluetooth issues.

Please note that by doing this all devices paired on your laptop will be removed and you would need to pair all those devices again.

    • Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start menu
    • Click on the "Settings" gear icon
    • In the Settings, click on "Devices"
    • Click on the "Bluetooth & devices" option from the left-hand menu.
    • Locate the section titled "Bluetooth" and click on the "More Bluetooth options"
    • In the "Options" tab, you'll find a button labeled "Reset." Click on it.
    • After resetting the Bluetooth settings, restart your computer to apply the changes.

After restarting you can try to pair your Sony WH-CH720N Bluetooth headphones.

If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate.
