Why is my keyboard working but my mouse not?

I have an HP all-in-one pc that comes with a wireless keyboard kit. When I tried to use my computer today, only the keyboard was working. The mouse is completely unresponsive and the cursor is not even appearing on screen. I have tried restarting my computer countless times, troubleshooting it, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, and more, but nothing seems to work. I connected another keyboard kit I have, but the same thing happens. Only the keyboard is connecting and not the mouse.

Have you checked the battery in the mouse?

    Hi Harris,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your mouse. From what you've described, it sounds like your wireless mouse might not be properly connected or the batteries could be low. You might want to try reconnecting the mouse by pressing the connect button on the bottom of the mouse and also checking the batteries to see if they need to be replaced.

If that doesn't work, you can also try plugging in a wired mouse to see if it works. This will help determine if the issue is with your computer or just the wireless mouse. If the wired mouse works, then it's likely that the wireless mouse is the problem and you may need to purchase a new one.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best regards,

    John D.

Sorry, no, it would not be a battery problem, unless you are saying the user is an idiot. While no, I have not tried a wired mouse, I have tried with numerous brands of mice, some, very new. I had the problem with the old logitech unifying, new logitech dongle, and even a new bluetooth wireless mouse. No, I have not tried a wired mouse. Is windows that fragile, that it can't have a wireless mouse anymore? I suspect the problem started about a year ago, but sometimes troubleshooting takes time. I even upgraded my cpu and memory as a possible problem, and it did not help.

As for installing different drivers for the wireless mice, windows no longer makes such a feat possible. I have tried uninstalling it, and putting in different software, but microsoft does not allow it anymore.

I am having the same problem. I have 5 different wireless mice and non of them are working. I was finally able to get a wired mouse to work after restarting a few times. I have no idea how to fix this.
