I have done all these (the last workaround I did yesterday) but today the process turned itself on again. If there is no other workaround to do, then can we safely assume that this process is a Microsoft blunder that cannot be corrected? .

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that. Let's try more troubleshooting.

    Modify Active Hours:

    1. Open the "Settings" app by pressing Windows key + I.
    2. Click on "Update & Security" and then select "Windows Update" from the left menu.
    3. Under the "Update settings" section, click on "Change active hours."
    4. Set the start and end time to cover the period when you typically use your computer. This will prevent Windows Optimization from running during your active hours.

    Limit Delivery Optimization:

    1. Open the "Settings" app and go to "Update & Security" > "Windows Update."
    2. Click on "Advanced options" and then select "Delivery Optimization."
    3. Toggle off the "Allow downloads from other PCs" option.
    4. Additionally, you can set the "Download settings" to "PCs on my local network" to reduce external network usage.

    Check Background Apps:

    1. Press Windows key + I to open the "Settings" app.
    2. Go to "Privacy" and select "Background apps" from the left menu.
    3. Toggle off any apps that you don't need running in the background. This can help reduce unnecessary network usage.

    Reset Windows Update Components:

    1. Open the Command Prompt as an administrator. Right-click on the Start menu, select "Command Prompt (Admin)."
    2. Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    1. After running these commands, restart your computer.

Hello! My name is Mostafa, and I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue. To disable Windows Optimization on Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

Note that disabling Windows Update can leave your system vulnerable to security risks and prevent you from receiving important updates, including critical security patches.

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter to open the Services window.
    3. Scroll down and find the service named "Windows Update" in the list.
    4. Right-click on the "Windows Update" service and select "Properties" from the context menu.
    5. In the Properties window, go to the "General" tab.
    6. In the Startup type section, select "Disabled" from the drop-down menu.
    7. Click on the "Apply" button, and then click "OK" to save the changes.

Disable Fullscreen Optimizations for individual apps:

    1. Right-click on the app or game that you want to start without Fullscreen Optimization.
    2. Select Properties from the context menu.
    3. Click on the Compatibility tab.
    4. Check the box next to Disable fullscreen optimizations.

If you're experiencing high internet bandwidth usage issues, it may be due to other factors, such as background processes or applications running on your system.

Check for Windows updates. Settings > Windows update > Check for Windows update.

Scan your PC with Windows Security or 3rd party antimalware software

Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security and then Virus & threat protection.

Download the accessible version of Malwarebytes from here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download

    Update all your driver.

If the above steps do not help, reach out to me, and I will be happy to help and try my best to resolve your issue. Thank you.

    Best,

    Mostafa
