XP is dead. Abandoned... What are you talking about? I can do anything I want. Who is going to stop me? Bill Gates. I ask you. You can keep giving your rhetoric's. And yes. The information you keep throwing at me. That I already know. Until I am blue in the face. I already know other Microsoft workers employees. That I've talked to. They said go on the Microsoft Community Web Site and ask to see if someone there has the second copy of the Version of Microsoft Windows XP PRO SP-2. Self-activating code. Lol. Again, Thanks for the Information. 98% I already Know. About transferring, Machine to machine Pc to Pc. Name brands and the self-builders' machines. Check your spelling. The Microsoft Windows XP, PRO/Home SP-1 SP-2 SP-3 software is dead. Abandoned. I can do whatever I want with it. I am not breaking the law. or violating any copy rights. on dead software. If I am show where it says that I am. What law? What Title. What chapter. What statue? Have a nice day sir. Again, Thank You. I can't wait until I get a response from another individual.

Unless you already have a Retail license for XP or a machine that originally came with XP preinstalled on it, you are out of luck.

Microsoft and its resellers have not sold XP for many years and it has been out of support since 2014.

But it does not come for free.

We can not recommend anywhere safe to buy it from.

    Warning:

You do not buy a Product Key by itself, as they are normally stolen/pirated, Volume Licenses which are not for private use, or MSDN keys which are not to be sold by the original subscription holder.

Make sure that you buy the complete sealed package (DVD, license)

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Shop.aspx

Read Section: Beware of Product Keys sold separately.

Mr. Smithers. Again Thanks. But you again just told me a bunch of information that I already know. I actually have 30 Disc with XP. And the Codes. 10 are from the various computer manufactures. I already know that I can run them on my machine. for 30 days. But anyway. Last night, I went ahead and installed my version of Windows XP PRO Sp2 With self-activation. And now my Windows XP PRO is activated. Like was telling you it is a 2-disc set. But I only have the first disc of the set. I will now piece together the rest of the operating system. On my old. The year of the PC I am running. A 2000 Compaq Presario computer. I am attempting to install XP on an 8-core pc. Don't tell me. I already know XP will only recognize. 4 Gb's I had XP running on a dual CPU Board. You did not answer my question. Where on the PC is the self-activation code stored. Kept. Is what I meant in last response to you. On the Hard Disc Drive. only on preinstalled PC's. To the best of your Knowlege is that correct? Actually, I am looking for someone here on Microsoft community that might have the second Microsoft windows XP SP-2 self-activating disc. Microsoft windows XP is dead to Microsoft. abandoned. They don't have a hold on it. I can do what ever I like with all the windows XP Disc's. I have. Right? Again Thanks. I know 100's of people That would like to see windows XP again. They all hate windows 10/11.

Youi have all these XP preinstalled disks and product keys by themselves.

    Won't help you.

If the Laptop/Computer came with the Windows Operating System preinstalled (Dell, HP, Acer, etc) , that Product Key that came with the Laptop/Computer is for the preinstalled OEM License and is non-transferable.

The OEM License/Product Key (preinstalled Operating Systems on Dell, HP, etc machines) is tied to the first machine it is installed on and dies when that machine dies.

The above rule also applies to OEM System Builders Licenses.

Retail Operating System License, that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

But Retail Licenses can also only be installed on one machine at any particular time.

Thank You - For your reply. I have a Compaq Tower. From the year 2000. But it come with Millennium. But you said. Retail License or a machine that Originally had XP preinstalled. I been working on PCs since 2001. I build computers for all my friends and relatives. When XP ended. They gave me all of the software. Including all the Microsoft windows XP with the codes. Code that needs activated. I also have a copy of Windows XP Pro. With self-activating code. It is a 2-disc set. But I only have the first disc. of that set. Some components are missing, and I have to piece the operating system together. By the way. Where is the software keep. to activate. XP. on a PC that came with windows XP preinstalled. Where is the self-activating code keep? On the HDD? Or in The Bio's? If on the HDD. One would of change that drive a long time ago. Even my windows Millennium. I would not be able to activate. Because I had thrown the original Mother Board away a long time ago. I just keep reinstalling it using the 30 days or go back to working with the self-activating code windows XP. I just thought there would be something out there. And I sure as hell would not even be thinking about buying a code or a disc of windows XP from any vendor. or retail or Ebay. I have 10 discs of windows XP with codes. Have a nice day.
