Hello, I own a lenovo ideapad 1, 4GB of RAM with a AMD 3050e processor, I have upgraded to windows 11 around 3 weeks ago and the touchpad has not been working since, it does not appear anywhere in system settings or in device manager, I have tried going into device manager > view > Show hidden devices and have uninstalled it, As i was given error 45, Being told to reconnect the device to the computer, I restarted, This did not work, Then I tried updating, This did also not work, And then I followed what the general advice from others way to uninstall and manually reinstall, However, After uninstalling, It has now disappeared without a trace and does not seem to be able to be reinstalled, I would greatly appreciate any help on the matter as I have recently bought this laptop, There are no pending updates for my laptop, What must I do to regain the touchpad? Thanks!

    Hi

In Reddit webchat I found a solution that worked for my case, very similar to yours, after I have tried all the troubleshooting steps of both Windows and Lenovo websites, it is quite tricky to find but very simple to apply... Good Luck

    Quoted from Reddit

    "

On the Lenovo website, the actual drivers aren‘t found in the „Mouse, Touchpad, Keyboard and Pen“ section but at „Motherboard Devices“ instead. Install all of those and things should work, they at least did for me.

Hello Christine, Many thanks for the reply! I have just followed your steps and my laptops system model appears to be "82GW" , I have also noticed that the system SKU name is "LENOVO_MT_82GW_BU_idea_FM_Ideapad 1 14ADA05" Incase this is any help! I have also since found the tab from where I uninstalled the driver for reinstallation still open and took screenshots of all of the tabs within it, Please ask me if these are of need, Thanks!

    Hi Zion,

I'm Christine, an Independent Advisor and Windows user like you. I can see here that your touchpad is not working after upgrade to Windows 11. No worries, I'll do my best to help you. Usually this kind of issue occurs due to incompatible driver.

Please send the exact model of your device. (Please press Windows key + R and type msinfo32 and hit enter, look for system model)

I will wait for the exact model of your device to check the best driver for you.

    Thank you,

    Christine L

    Hi Zion,

Thank you so much for sharing this and for your response. Appreciated.

This kind of issue usually occurs when there's a compatibility issue between the OS and the hardware driver, and to resolve is to manually install the driver from manufacturer website or update the driver.

Please see and follow the steps below:

    Kindly open the link:

    https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/lap...

    Select Custom Troubleshooting

Choose Mouse, Keyboard, Trackpoint, and Touchpad

    Select Trackpoint and TouchPad

Then hit Touchpad not working - ideapad

Then please follow the step by step prompt

If the issue persists after following the steps, the best option is to reach Lenovo Team and ask for the best touchpad driver that could run on Windows 11.

Please let them know all of the steps that you've done already so they will proceed on the next steps.
