Do Windows optimizer programs really work?

I'm using Windows 11, and when it comes to optimizing, there are lots of programs targeting to make Windows faster.

  1. Drivers

Does Windows really install all drivers for all components? If Windows installs the drivers, why do other programs tell us, 'Your driver is outdated! You must update!'?

  1. DLL

Can Windows be installed with errors and lost files? Should we install programs like DLL Fixer, or does 'sfc /scannow' really work?

  1. Free RAM

Does Windows need those apps? Because some programs free up 1-2GB of RAM by closing certain Windows apps.

  1. Antivirus

Is Windows' built-in antivirus good enough to protect my computer, or do I need to download another antivirus program?

  1. Optimizer

Does Windows really need to be optimized? Programs like Advanced SystemCare make tons of changes to Windows and claim, 'Now this computer is faster and lighter!'

    Hello Yalçın,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

    1. Most of the "your drivers are out of date" messages are false lures for making you download the programs
    2. sfc/scannow works for the purpose it is designed for. It is not a sure fix for everything. Some programs when uninstall will leave residual files which can be manually removed or in this case a cleaner program can be used.
    3. No no programs is requried to clear RAM in the way these apps do. They force close apps which are then initiated again by windows thus consuming valuable CPU resource. Windows is intelligent enough to hibernate apps that are not required consistently thus saving RAM but keeping the app so that its startup time is reduced.
    4. Windows default security is enough for day to day usage of system. If you suspect a malware Microsoft provides an upto date downloadable scanner for scan from here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365...
    5. No You donot need optimizer apps. Keeping a proper maintenance schedule in the system as well as ensuring your system remains up to date is the best thing that can be done.

In my personal experience these apps do more harm than good.
