| It's unusual for color videos to play in black and white on one media player and then play in color on another. Here are a few possible explanations.

Codec issue: Different media players use different codecs to decode and play video files. It's possible that the codec used by your initial media player doesn't fully support the color information in the video file, resulting in a black and white display.

Video settings: Check the video settings in your initial media player. There might be an option enabled that converts the video to black and white. Look for settings related to color correction, grayscale, or black and white playback. Disabling such settings could restore the color display.

Software glitch: Occasionally, media players can have bugs or glitches that affect video playback. If the issue persists with your initial media player and the videos consistently play in black and white, it might be worth reinstalling or updating the software to see if that resolves the problem.

By switching to VLC and obtaining color playback, it seems like the issue might be specific to your initial media player rather than the video files themselves. |

Great advice! I've tried different codec programs, etc., to no avail. Following these instructions, I quickly discovered the 'video enhancements' was turned off. Simply turning it on solved the problem (the 'saturation slider was already set ~50%, just inactivated). Thanks for solving this riddle! Tom |
