My device is registered to my Microsoft account, but there is no BitLocker recovery Key for my device. I believe a BitLocker Recovery Key was never created for my device. How do I request for a new BitLocker recovery Key for my registered Device?

Hi Ade, I'm Erfan and I'll be more than happy to help!

If you never created a BitLocker recovery key please follow the steps below to create one and let me know how it goes:

    • Go to the Microsoft Account page and sign in with your credentials.
    • Navigate to the Devices section, and select the device for which you want to request a recovery key.
    • Click on the "Manage" button for that device.
    • Scroll down to the "BitLocker Recovery Keys" section and click on "Get BitLocker recovery key".
    • Follow the instructions to verify your identity, and then a recovery key will be generated for your device.

In the meantime please refer to the link below to find out how to find your recovery key:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fin...

You'll also find a video of how to find your recovery key in the link above.

Please note: If someone else helped you set up your PC, the BitLocker keys you're looking for might be on their account.

Do not hesitate to reach back to me if you needed any further assistance, I'll always be happy to help.

    Thanks!

What if there is no "Get bitlocker recovery key" option? Mine doesn't provide that option. It also says that no bitlocker keys have been uploaded to my microsoft account.
