When the laptop sleeps, I am unable to turn it back on till I restart it by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Hello! My name is Mostafa, and I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

    I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Please try to update Update BIOS to the latest version by going to its manufacturer's website.

    Updates all drivers and Windows.

    Turn off fast startup.

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, then copy & paste powercfg.cpl into the box and click OK.
    2. Click Choose what the power buttons do.
    3. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    4. Make sure the box before Turn on fast startup (Recommended) is unchecked, then click Save changes and close the window.
    5. Check to see if the computer wakes up issue is solved.

    Re-enable hibernation

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and type cmd. Then click on Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
    2. Type "powercfg.exe /hibernate off && powercfg.exe /hibernate on" and press Enter.
    3. Again, try to put your PC to sleep and wake it up to see if it functions properly.

    Hi,

    I will help you get started with support. One of my areas of expertise is ThinkPads but you haven't stated the model number of your Lenovo.

    What Lenovo [model#] do you have? You can normally find the model number on the tag affixed to the bottom of the laptop.

    Generically speaking I can tell you, from experience, you are likely seeing a hardware issue. The one simple-and-easy thing you can do, 1st, is make sure your BIOS is on the most-recent version.

    If a firmware update doesn't fix the issue I would suggest posting on an appropriate manufacturer's forum--again I could provide more detail if I knew the model of your Lenovo.

    Best of luck!

    -Jeff
