Mouse delay due to bad electricity might actually be true.

Hello, so i discovered that the mouse delay due to bad electricity might be true afterall. I've had mouse delay for around 4 years now, 2019. But not too long ago i actually went to my friends house, with my pc etc. It fixed the mouse delay completely. How can this be? I don't see a real reason why electricity would cause mouse delay in the first place, i've heard smth about grounding. But i can't find any answers to why, electricity can affect mouse input. By the way, the reason why i write to, Microsoft is because, it's still a question kind of. Are there any small fixes for this? Would love to get some answers here :) One more thing, i've changed every part in my pc, even a new internet. This problem occurs offline and online. You can also, kind of feel it on desktop, but not as much.

Electromagnetic interference from other electronics(something that's consuming high wattage can generate strong/big electromagnetic field, or something that's faulty/low quality, or something that's transmitting radio signal like a wifi device) or electricity distributing facility(outdoor power line, transformer or something that can produce big/strong electromagnetic field) or radio signal transmitting cellphone tower and so on can also be the reason.

Wireless rats are more susceptible than wired ones.

Hello! Sorry for the late response. I don't think i have grounding. I get sparkings and so on, atleast sometimes. I went to my friends house and the mouse delay went away completely. It was so satisfying. Most people say that this isn't possible, however... This needs more attention and that's why i'm trying to spread this. I'm not stopping till it gets more attention <3

"I don't see a real reason why electricity would cause mouse delay in the first place,"

    • It won't. Not if you are referring to mains power, or the power from your machines power supply.

Inadequate power from the psu can cause a game to lag due to a drop in performance should the output of +12V rail not have adequate Amps,

or a drop in +12V output (or otherwise faulting) when under load, but that is not what is generally referred to as input lag.

    • Because you said everything runs smoothly when you take your machine to your friends house, and assuming your used your

mouse\keyboard and PC, but used your friends monitor, the input lag at home may be due to your monitor (or TV ?)

having a high input latency (over 40ms, but less than 20ms is best with action games).

Using cable adapters or splitters can also induce lag.

[EDIT: ddusk filled in the other potentials in his post below. Wireless mice are far more prone to lag than wired mice even

when there is no interference, but when the base is placed near potential interference such as powerful speakers you are

far more likely to have input lag issues.

There is no mystery 'bad electricity' from the mains power you connect a machine to. ]

    Hi Andy,

I had a similar issue, with a Razer Abysus 2014.

But my problem is the USB problem.

You already tried to plug mouse in other ports? are you using any HUB usb?

Other suggestion is verifying if your bios are recently updated.

Your board is an MSI, right?

    You can check BIOS at:

    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z390-A-PRO/support

I have heard, I don't know in your country, but in mine as we only have two power phases, in some constructions such as older wires there can be power surges and instabilities in the electricity that can influence, but I really believe that this is not the case.

It is also worth checking your power supply.

the last thing to know if there are an issue in your pc is trying to use other mouse and make some tests!

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

I look forward to helping you.

    Kind Regards,

    R. Cord

By default win update does not update drivers, unless the user fiddled with the settings

You obtain drivers for a self build only from the mobo maker & vid card makers, and no other source
