    Hi Neil,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble scrolling using your trackpad on Windows 10. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue:

    1. First, make sure that your touchpad is enabled. You can do this by pressing the Fn key and the touchpad enable/disable key on your keyboard, which is usually located on one of the function keys.
    2. If you have any external input devices connected to your laptop, such as a USB mouse or keyboard, try disconnecting them and see if this resolves the issue.
    3. If the above steps don't work, you can try updating or reinstalling your touchpad drivers in Device Manager. To do this, go to Device Manager, find your touchpad device, right-click on it, and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device". After uninstalling the device, restart your computer and Windows should automatically reinstall the touchpad driver.
    4. If the issue persists, you can try resetting your touchpad. To do this, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad, and click on "Reset".
    5. Lastly, you can try changing your mouse pointer to see if this helps. Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse, and select a different mouse pointer scheme.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue with your trackpad. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    John D.

You're welcome, Neil! Contacting your manufacturer's customer support is the best course of action at this point. They should be able to provide further assistance and possibly repair or replace your touchpad if it is a hardware issue. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Neil,

I'm sorry to hear that the previous solutions did not work for you. It seems like your touchpad driver may be missing or corrupted. Here are some additional steps you can try:

    1. Go to the manufacturer's website of your laptop and download the latest touchpad driver for your specific model and Windows 10 version.
    2. Install the driver and restart your laptop.
    3. If the touchpad still does not work, try going into the BIOS/UEFI settings of your laptop and see if there are any options related to the touchpad. Make sure it is enabled.

If none of these steps work, there may be a hardware issue with your touchpad. You may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.

Additionally, you can check this "Fix touchpad problems in Windows" https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix...

I hope these additional steps help you resolve the issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Hi John,
Thank you for the detailed guide. I have tried all these solutions to no avail. In Device Manager, there is no touchpad device only a pointing one. And only "Taps" is shown in Touchpad settings.
