How do I change my driver on my network adapter?

Hello,

I have recently been using my windows 10 computer, and all of a sudden, the wifi just shut down. To make it simpler, whenever I click on the "Network Connection" tab on the taskbar, it shows mejust the airplane mode option, which does not let me click on it. I've tried troubleshooting it and it always says "Install a driver for your network adapter: WIndows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver". I have also recently taken this PC to the repair shop. When I try to click on the network adapter folder, it says that the folder is empty. when I hover over the connection tab in the taskbar, it says "Not connected - No connection available".

Please help

    Hi, NicolasBN,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Please provide some more details to help to identify what is causing this problem. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Which is the full model of your computer/laptop or motherboard? Is the wifi card embedded in the motherboard of your computer or you are using an external wifi card?

Also, attach a screenshot of the System Information Page:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Run

2-Type: msinfo32 and click on Ok

And a screenshot of the version of the driver installed:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager

2-Click to expand the Network adapters

3-Right-click on the Wifi driver and click on properties

4-Take a screenshot of the General and Driver tab

As the wifi card is not recognized in the Device Manager, this could be a hardware problem. You can the Dell Diagnostics & Tools at this link to check if there are any problems with the wifi card.

If Dell Diagnostics & Tools also could not recognize your wifi card, tun the preboot diagnostic test to check if the wifi card is recognized outside of Windows. You can see how to do it at this link.

    Hi again,

Sorry about that, the computer I am expieriencing issues with is a laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 3511 and the wifi card is embedded in the motherboard.

For the Network adaptors, I could not find the "wifi driver". I will attach a screenshot of what does appear.
