Nothing in that link is useful as I have already tried all of those, just worded differently in my original problem statement. One of the older solutions not listed that I just attempted was to reinstall Realtek by using the "add legacy hardware" option within device manager, however all that resulted in was an immediate BSOD. That outcome happened for every legacy hardware option I had available. And now I have an entirely expanded issue because of it. I originally wasn't sure if the BSOD may have been linked to incompatible Realtek drivers already installed, so I tried fully uninstalling Realtek by also uninstalling the separate Realtek audio input and audio output devices. And now when I try reinstalling the Realtek driver, it doesn't install the input and output devices at all. The main Realtek Audio driver still appears under the "sound, video, and game controllers" device, but now I'm completely missing the "audio inputs and outputs" device where the microphone and speaker drivers should be installed. And yes, I have tried downloading the Realtek driver directly from my computer manufacturer's website, this did not work.
Realtek Audio drivers not working (Windows 11)
Current specs/information: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz with 16GB RAM.
When I went to boot up my laptop, all of the audio ceased working despite working perfectly fine several hours before. I hadn't made any administrator changes to the laptop or installed any updates since the previous session. But now I have no playable sound and the microphone doesn't work either. When I go into sound test I get the "failed to play test tone" error. If I plug in a set of speakers or a headset to the USB or audio jack, the laptop recognizes that an external audio device has been plugged in, but the audio won't play on that device. Nor does it allow me to switch the audio/microphone source over because the device doesn't show up as an option like I never plugged it in to begin with. Automatic troubleshooter indicates there is an issue with the audio driver, however it simply returns the error that it couldn't solve the problem. I also can't identify what the specific problem is because I get no errors in the event viewer and all the driver details state the device is "working properly" when it clearly isn't.
What I have tried:
>Check for available Windows update (none available, latest installed).
>Uninstalling and reinstalling Realtek audio drivers, both manually through device manager and by downloading external updates from their website.
>Manually downgrading audio drivers to previous version.
>Changing sample rate in speaker properties.
>Disabling audio enhancements.
>Running system file checker (no integrity violations).
>Changing Windows Audio service and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder log-on settings.
>Restarting Windows Audio service.
What is there left to try? I'm really getting frustrated with all these issues using Windows.

2024-09-05T02:04:56+00:00 It's a software issue. The "official" answer is that Realtek does not support ASUS firmware running Windows 11. Once you update past a certain point the driver starts to struggle and eventually conks out because it doesn't know what to do since it isn't supported. I did get my sound working again on my speakers, however I no longer have access to the Realtek audio console app as it immediately closes out telling me it "doesn't support this machine". So now none of my 3.5mm jacks work anymore and that's where I'm unfortunately stuck at.
