I would like to export data from a large list of files I have into a csv or xls format. I need to export the title and also filename - there are a number of tutorials on how to export the filename only but can't find any way of exporting other metadata. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hello Jaan, thi sis Emily.

If you have Excel, it allows you to get /import data from many sources, including folder.

Open your Excel, go to Data tab. Click on Get Data > From File > From Folder. Then pick the folder you want to export from. You will get a small pop up preview window, you can click load to have it load it your excel sheet. That should give you more than just file names with this method. Hope it helps.

Just use a tagging program, such as M3Tag, TagScanner, or Tag&Rename. All of them have an export option.

The above three programs are mainly used for music files, but may also have support for video files.

For general metadata management, there's also Metadata++.

Thanks Emily, I have managed to import the data using desktop version. I am specifically after the 'title' detail to be listed and I can't work out how to add this. There are various options for adding an additional column to the data but none of them include any way to pull this metadata from what I can see. The 'title' info is readily available in file explorer - any suggestions?

    Thanks again for your help.
