Need to Remove Write Protection from a USB

I have a 64GB flash drive that I need to format, but when I try, I am told it is Write protected and the protection must be removed. I have seen directions about using Regedit, but would feel better getting the direction from you, rather than an unknown group on the 'net. Can you provide some specific instructions?

    I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

    Change Pen Drive Read-Write Properties.

    Go to My Computer/This PC and under Devices with Removable Storage, look for your pen drive device. Right-click on it and click Properties. Click Edit, in the pop-up box, sometimes there's an option to Remove write-protection.

    We are an unknown group as we are just fellow users.

    Some USBs have a physical slider that can make the USB write protected so you might search for that.

    Thank you. Yes, I have looked for any Slide Switches but found none. It's a Sandisk/WesternDigital flash drive that is supposed to have a capacity of 64GB but when I run Properties, it only shows 32GB Total Capacity. Sandisk tells me to reformat it but a Write Protect will not allow it. Thanks for the help.

    I don't think so but I didn't check it until approx 6 months after purchase. The body of the Flash Drive is printed with the 64GB Capacity - which matches the package it came in,
