Hello JohnMelton1,
I am Jaspreet Singh.
The steps are the same as windows 10.
Connect the TV using an HDMI cable then press win + P keys together and choose the mode you wish to use with the TV.

How do I connect my PC to TV in Windows 11 using HDMI? In Windows 10 I simply connected the HDMI cable and the PC detected the TV as a monitor, but Windows 11 does not detect the TV. Can anyone tell me how to do this with Windows 11?

Hello JohnMelton1,

I am having the same problem as John. I have a new computer with Windows 11 and a mini HDMI port. I have connected the HDMI cable to the PC and my TV but the TV is not detecting my PC. I pressed Win + P keys (as you suggested) and a dialog box comes up with 4 options - 1) PC screen only 2) Duplicate 3) Extend 4) Second screen only. You suggest choosing the mode you wish to use. Are these the modes you refer to? I have clicked on each of them and nothing happens.
Hi Jaspreet,
Thank you for your reply. The procedure you list works just fine with an older Windows 10 laptop that I have. The display comes up properly on the TV. It does not work with a desktop and two laptops (all different brands) that run Windows 11. The computer does not detect the TV as a display. That is the reason I am asking the question. Windows 11 apparently handles this procedure differently, and that is what I need to find out.

Hi Jaspreet,
I don't know what GPU is, unless it is a typo. If you meant CPU, all of my computers use Intel CPUs. And I must emphasize again, the process you suggest works fine with the one Windows10 machine, but does not work with any of the Windows11 machines. The screens look different in Win11, and I have to believe that the process is different, too.

Hi Jaspreet, I have the same issue as mentioned with Windows 11 Home on 2021 LG Gram 17" laptop. The external display works fine via USB-C port, but not via HDMI port.
