All wireless devices randomly stop working

Anonymous
2023-06-29T00:29:37+00:00

I have had this issue going on for almost a year now, where once or twice every month all my wireless devices (Bluetooth and wireless mouse, but wi-fi will usually work) will randomly stop working until I restart my pc. Another issue that seems to be related is that whenever this happens, all devices attached to my Corsair Commander pro (fan and lighting controller for corsair fans and AIO liquid cooler) will stop being detected by iCUE(corsair software for setting up lighting effects, fan controls etc.) and will still work, but switch back their default lighting and fan settings. I have tried updating drivers, reinstalling software, and factory resetting my PC, none of which resolved the problem. Around the time this issue started I upgraded my CPU to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3D and I also installed a new PCIe wi-fi/Bluetooth adapter and unsure if they are related to the problem. I have also checked event viewer the last few times this happened and found logs for 6 events that occur around the same time I get this problem.

    Hello David Simmons,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

If you have changed your hardware, I suggest you reinstall all device drivers, especially chipset drivers, graphics card drivers and network card drivers. Because these can affect the operation of your computer.

Then regarding the random disconnection of your peripheral, try the following steps:

    1. Please look for .dmp files in the directory below, if so, package these files, upload them to OneDrive, and share them, and then include a link to share them in the next reply. Since these files detail exactly what happened when your system crashed, this helps us resolve your issue.
       C:\WINDOWS\LiveKernelReports\USBXHCI\USBXHCI-20230628-2001-01.dmp

       C:\WINDOWS\SystemTemp\WER-339995078-0.sysdata.xml

       C:\WINDOWS\LiveKernelReports\USBXHCI\USBXHCI-20230628-2001-02.dmp

       C:\WINDOWS\SystemTemp\WER-339995203-1.sysdata.xml

    2. Disable USB Selective suspend in Advanced Power Optionsby the following steps. Win*+* R to open "Run", type 'powercfg.cpl', press Enter to open the Power Options*, click 'Change mode settings' to the right of the current power plan > "Change advanced power settings", if you are unable to configure it, click "Change currently unavailable settings" above, navigate to* USB Settings > USB Selective suspend Setting*, and Disable all options (On buttery and Plugged in).*
    3. You may Perform a clean boot (microsoft.com) to see if it is normal, this is a troubleshooting step. In this mode, we can further confirm whether it is caused by system problem or third-party software or personalized settings. So, please be patient. Disclaimer*: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.* These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

Mosken_L - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Hi, I am Dhanam, Independent Advisor here to work with you on this issue.

I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

    1. Select Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters . Next to Bluetooth, select Run and follow the instructions.
    2. Select Search on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager from the results.

In Device Manager, select Bluetooth. Press and hold (or right-click) the Bluetooth adapter name (which may include the word “radio”), and select Uninstall device > Uninstall.

Select Start, then select Power > Shut down.

After your device shuts down, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Windows will try to reinstall the driver.

If Windows doesn't reinstall the driver automatically, open Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
