Yeah, I fear that's the case.. but also didn't want you to miss any slim chance you might get. No problem. Take care!
HP Elite x2 Windows 11 Camera App error code 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>
So i recieved this hp elite x2 1012 g2 tablet/laptop from my relatives. It has windows 11.
The problem is the camera app is throwing the error as mentioned.
I tried,
- making sure camera access is on and permissions are given
- repair and reset for camera
- Updating camera driver
- Uninstalling and clicking 'scan for hardware changes' which reinstalls it again
- Disabling and enabling it
Finally, i tried looking for drivers on hp support but of no vail, as they only have up to windows 10 for my device.
The camera driver is 'Inter(R) AVStream Camera 2500' and of hardware id 'video\intca00'
Please help. Especially i got to write proctored exams in a few days :/

2023-06-15T16:54:05+00:00 when i clicked on update driver and then, browse the folder....it's saying no .inf files are found...
do i have to do something?
I searched up and they are either extracting the .cab file(extract option is not showing in my case) and some are giving commands for windows 10 for extracting .inf files from .cab file,
and i'm definitely afraid to try them on my windows 11.
Any advice?

You can either use this link https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search... or go to HP and download from HP for your model. You can type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then grab the SKU and search by SKU on HP to find the exact model.
If it still doesn't work after that, then I am afraid that's the deadend and it is incompatitable driver.

2023-06-15T05:02:32+00:00 No mate, there is no camera key on my keyboard... also no such slider/button for camera too.
I'll try those drivers then...
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Intel(R)+AVStream+Camera+2500
I'm thinking of trying the second one here... as it supports my hardware id 'video\intca00'
Is it ok?
thanks for the reply btw :)

Does your HP have a camera key on the keyboard somewhere? Or an actual button/slider on the side of the laptop? If you find that, press it/turn it on to see if it helps.
If it doesn't help, I am afraid it is a driver incompatible issue. As you stated, HP only has driver for this device up to Windows 10. I also tried to look for Windows update catalog for the Intel AVStream 2500, all drivers are up to Windows 10 only. So that definitely can be the issue. Now, sometimes an outdated driver can still work, so if you want to give it a try, you can still manually download and install it from HP. But it just doesn't guarantee to work. If that won't help, I am afraid you will have to get an external plug in webcam as your workaround.
