Screenshots are always discolored

Every time I try to take a screenshot, the colors are off or washed out. This is not a problem with any specific application since it happens no matter where I take the screenshot from. It's most noticeable when trying to pick a HEX code from an image. Here's an example of things progressively getting more discolored when I take a screenshot of a screenshot (even the first/left one is already discolored):

I have a Samsung Galaxy Book2 (product listing) with this processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1260P 2.10 GHz and this graphics driver: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics. I'm not great with technology so I'm not sure where to even start fixing this and would like some advice ;-;

    Hi Xandamaestrom,

    I'm Amr, an independent advisor.

First and foremost, try to update Windows

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/upd...

If the issue persists, try to download the latest update for your GPU from the manufacturer's website

If the issue persists, try these methods

Repair and Reset Snipping Tool App

Go to “Settings -> Apps -> Snipping Tool -> Advanced options.” It will open the “Apps & features” menu.

Navigate to the “Reset” menu and click “Repair.” Wait a few seconds for it to be repaired.

If there are no outstanding issues, you should notice a checkmark next to the Repair button as shown below.

Repeat the same procedure for the Reset button.

    Uninstall and Reinstall Snipping Tool

To uninstall the Snipping Tool program in Windows 11, select “Add or remove programs” from the Start menu search or in the Control Panel.

Scroll down to the Snipping Tool app, and from its three-dot menu, select “Uninstall” to proceed with the removal.

After uninstalling the Snipping Tool in Windows 11, you can reinstall it from Microsoft Store.

I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.

Hello, I tried all of the options you listed to no avail and I also don't have any missing system updates. This issue has been happening for me ever since I got the device. I think it's a problem with my laptop itself because my screenshots are discolored everywhere, even through third party apps like Steam. Do you know of anything else I could do?

I understand, I assume it's a new device you have

Screen discolouration of your Samsung Galaxy Book2 could be due to several reasons such as a faulty graphics card, damaged display

    Try to update your system

Make sure your device is running the latest version of its operating system and all drivers are up to date.

update your GPU from the manufacturer's site

If it does not work, it's likely a hardware issue and you should contact Samsung support

Snipping tool and print screen were the only things that I had used before posting and I hadn't tested it in other applications yet. I'm sorry for the misleading title and have fixed it now. I have a Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360, Intel® Core™ i7 and the model number is 950QED

    Thank you for the reply,

You said "because my screenshots are discolored everywhere", so what makes you think there is an issue with Screenshots (print screen/snipping tool)?

I think the problem is with the display itself, what is the brand and model of your laptop?
