Can't uninstall McAfee Security Scan plus on Windows 10 through the usual method. It is greyed out and unresponsive

I had the same issue here is how I fixed it:

1. Open your file explorer app
2. Click the "This PC" dropdown
3. Double click on "Windows (C:)" to open it
4. Open the "Program Files (x86)" Folder
5. Open the "McAfee Security Scan" Folder
6. Right click on the file named "uninstall"
7. Select "Properties" from the dropdown
8. Click on the "Compatibility" tab
9. Click the "Change high DPI settings" button
10. Check the box next to "Override high DPI scaling behavior."
11. For the dropdown saying "Scaling performed by:" select "System"
12. Click ok and apply and back out of the folders app
13. Finally uninstall from settings or control panel, as explained by McAfee. Then I would run MCPR.exe tool just in case.

This works. I hit tab, and it showed Uninstall and another unreadable button. Clicked on Uninstall, and it did it.

This solution worked for me. If you look in (Programs(X86) on your drive in the McAfee folder, you will find the folder "Security Scan Plus". Open the folder and there is an executable as stated in the reply. Execute the uninstall and it is gone.

Thanks, I didn't do exactly what you recommended but somehow got a list of programs and clicked on McAfee and uninstall and it is gone.
