hello there. can anyone help me with my problem? i don't know If my laptop is not working properly or what. but when i notice that my touchpad is disabled and try to press FN+F10, it locked in the disabled touchpad. i keep pressing FN+F10, but the the screen show me the "touchpad is disabled" words every time i press FN+F10. I've tried using tips from internet, like using the setting and goes to Bluetooth and device setting (it's not working because i didn't see any touchpad setting like how the instruction told me), i tried using device manager to try and update my touchpad (it didn't work because my laptop said that my touchpad is up to date), and I've also to unplugged and replug my mouse (as i wrote this request, my mouse is the only device connected to my laptop) but it didn't work either. please help!

Note: sorry, I've used armoury crate just now but it didn't work either, please help me.

    Hi shadow123245,

I'm Christine, an Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. Looks loke you're having issue enabling your touchpad via F10. No worries, I'll do my best to help you.

May I know what is the make and model of your device?

To check, please press Windows key + R and type mainfo32 then hit enter. You'll see the system model from there.

Please try to follow the steps below:

    1. Please press F10 key only without the FN and check if the issue persists.
    2. Kindly try to press FN+ESC and check if the F10 is still not working properly.
    3. Please press Windows key + X and choose device manager

Look for Keyboard option and expand it.

Please uninstall the driver and restart your device, that should be reinstalled after the reboot.

    1. Let's run Hardware troubleshooter

Please press Windows key + R

Paste the command below to the Run box and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

Please let me know the result. I'll be happy to assist you all the way until it's resolved.

    Thank you,

    Christine L

Hey Shadow, I was experiencing this same issue until just now. Unfortunately none of your solutions worked for me, but what did, was connecting an external mouse, then uninstalling the keyboard drivers then restarting. After it restarted, everything works again! Thank you for making the post, and thanks to @Tin for their responses.

hello there thank you for responding to my question. here is my device model:

    System Name DESKTOP-35RMN0B

    System Manufacturer ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

    System Model ROG Strix G531GD

    System Type x64-based PC

i'v tried the steps you've given me before, here's my result:

I tried to follow step 1 and 2 but nothing works. i didn't follow steps 3 because I'm afraid of uninstalling something and when I used step 4, the result said it didn't found any trouble. because it didn't work, i turned into frantic pressing/

after some frantic pressing, my keyboard works by itself. i don't know what I press before so I don't know which one is the solution, here's exactly what I did:

    1. i frantically press all key FN+all keys combination on the keyboard and test if there are any combinations to fix my touchpad key, it's not working at all
    2. I press FN+windows button, which I later found out to have the function to turn on and off the windows button key, at least in my laptop
    3. I turn off my game mode in the setting and turn it on
    4. then I went to the accessibility settings and turn off every settings in the sticky keys setting and check if my keyboard works or not.

by the time I've calmed down, my keyboard works normally now. I'm relieved mixed with worried because now I don't know what solution I did should the same problem appear. anyway, thank you for helping me fix my problem.
