Computer crashing during gaming with loud buzzing noise

For quite some time now I've had an issue where my PC will freeze during gaming. The system will be unresponsive but there is always a loud buzzing sound. A hard reset is required.

The issue isn't present when I'm playing older or less demanding games; I've updated my video card driver to the latest version without success. I've monitored the core temperatures and they're consistently in the 80s which shouldn't—and I could be wrong here—cause this kind of shutdown.

I did try to look at the dump file the last time it happened but accessing and reading it seems to be a lot more convoluted on Windows 11; any help would be appreciated.

    Hi.

Unfortunaly games and more the new games have high hardware requirements.

Possible the issue is because the game asks for stronger hardware from your computer.

This also shows that the problem does not exist in older games. Also a reason why new graphics drivers come out so often, is the very frequent problems, not in all games and the same problem but in specific and different problems.

    Possible solutiions :

-Update all drivers of your PC

-Minimize the settings of the game eg. select less fps or resolution

-Before you start the game , close all other programs. They potentially consume critical resources.

    Please let me know :

-Your graphics cards manufacturer and models

    -Your hardware profile

    -The game with the problem

    -If the above solutions work.

    Hi,

Thanks for the prompt response. I've updated all the relevant drivers but I'm still experiencing the problem.

    The hardware is as follows:

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.80 GHz

    Installed RAM 32.0 GB

Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER

This should be capable of playing most recent releases on decent settings but I've had issues with 'Cyberpunk 2077', 'Grand Theft Auto V', 'Death Stranding' and others.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a Minidump folder in the Windows folder. I've attached a screenshot.

    Hi Eòghann,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.
