also a number appears in the action centre.
But everything is gone again immediately.

I have set:

And I can confirm this is working well for other notifications (e.g. from google chat)

thanks a lot for still trying to help.
But this was set for weeks already. So does not help,

    Hey, how you doing?

Thank you for contacting us and welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Make sure you enable these two options,

Type chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications in your addressbar and hit enter, Enable this flag and relaunch chrome.

In windows, go to Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > In Get notification and actions from these sender section select Google chrome.

Check if the suggestions above helped you and tell me if it worked.

    Thanks

    Hi
thanks a lot for the hints.

Notification Area is already as an icon in the taskbar. I can see a "1" for a second. But is gone immediately.
So I assume notification appears in action center but will be somehow "acknowledged/viewed" even when I don't "view" it.

Is a company laptop so, yes l up to date in regards to updates. And no, I can't try anything else as I don't have admin rights.
But a colleague (using different laptop) is facing same issue. So I think is not related to anything corrupted on my laptop.

This issue might be due to corrupted or missing System files.

Please provide more information to help you better:

Have you made any changes to the pc prior to this issue?

Have you installed all pending updates on the pc?

In which user account is he facing this issue?

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the pc and login to the Admin account or the Microsoft account to test if that helps with this issue.

I also suggest you to install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

If issue still persists, I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to turn the Action Center option to on and check if it works.

-Go to Control Panel. Then click on to “Notification Area Icons".

-Click on "Turn System icons on or off" and make sure that the icon for Action Center is set to “On”.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

    Method 2: Clean Boot

Placing your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Note:Once you are done with the troubleshooting, perform the steps in "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot "to reset computer as usual.

    Method 3: SFC Scan:

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

-Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).

-In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

         sfc /scannow
