I have an Acer aspire one D250-1580 that I want to reinstall windows do on because it told me to but I couldn’t so I installed Debian Linux and that was fine until that stopped working too and I got this computer from my grandmothers co worker and have nothing but the laptop and charger. I have scoured the Internet and can’t find a working windows do iso they just keep blue screening. I want to restore it to factory settings but when I installed Debian all the partitions on the drive were deleted including the recovery partition and I can’t figure out how to get the files. The official Acer website obviously doesn’t have the downloads anymore so I don’t know what to do I just want this laptop to work again. Any suggestions are open thank you.

We do not recommend non Community approved websites in this Community to download Windows ISOs from.

I for one have seen too much of files being embedded with malware.

The way to restore it to factory settings was that Recovery Partition; but alas it is gone and Acer have long stopped selling Recovery Media for XP.

And forget about installing 11, as your machine would not be suitable for 11 and 11 is not for free.

As for 10, 10 is not for free either from XP and you may not find it compatible either.

And Microsoft STOPPED selling Windows 10 earlier this year.

I downloaded XP Home Edition (SP1) in ISO form. I burned it's image to a CD on My 2020 ACER as I have a CD-RW on my 2003 HP Pavilion. Formatted an old HDD because the original had been damaged and installed from my CD drive. I have my sticker on the side, so I put in my product code and voila! Now I'm trying to download AVG for XP and find SP3 and install from a flash drive so I don't catch any viruses. Good Luck and keep your AV updated and active. It's a dangerous game...

    Hi.

Unfortunately as far as I know, Microsoft does not provide Windows before Windows 10.

Can you give the technical characteristics of your computer ? I'm asking this about the possibility of installing Windows 10 or 11.
