Where are windows sound schemes stored? I don't mean all the .wav files. I mean the named "schemes" you can save in Control Panel > Sounds > Sounds tab. I'd like to copy-paste my scheme from one computer to another as opposed to manually changing every individual sound. Thanks.

    The sounds are in C:\Windows\Media

For the file names, click a sound, and look at the bottom. You should see a dropdown menu (e.g. Asterisk is Windows Backround.wav)

I was having the same problem, but following your instructions did not provide the solution as there is no separate personalization menu and the appearance and personalization menu gives none of the information you said it does.

    Hi , Watttttttat..

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

The scheme with the pattern is usually saved together with the theme of windows, however it is not possible to export the sounds together, you can try to copy the theme with the pattern and modify it.

. Go to Settings -> Personalization -> Themes. Right-click your custom theme under Current theme, and click Save theme for sharing.

Select a location, type a name, and click Save.

You can find the .deskthemepack file at the saved location to share it with others.

    Using the Control Panel

If you want to use the Control Panel for themes, that's still possible in Windows 11. Open Control Panel via Search. Click Appearance and Personalization.

    control panel menu

    Click Personalization.

Windows 11 control panel appearance and personalization

You will get a theme selection screen, with the individual elements like background, color, sounds, and screen saver at the bottom.
