Hi all,

I'm using an Asus TUF gaming F15, few days ago there was a thin small distortion line on my screen when I opened youtube. Then few days after the lines become more severe and covered almost half of my screen. It only appears when I plugged in the charger. When I Try to screenshot there are no horizontal lines. When I switched on safe mode and open the device manager, all the lines disappeared but when I close it the lines appear back. Please help me with this T_T

I had the same issue. The solution I found on the Internet and is working on my laptop:

    • Settings > Display > Advanced display
    • change the refresh rate from 144 Hz to 60 Hz

    Hi Azlif,

I'm Christine, an Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. I can see here that you are getting a horizonal black lines on your screen when your charger is plugged in. This issue usually occurs due to drivers or hardware issue. No worries, I'll do my best to help you.

May I know when did the issue start? Is there any changes made?

Which version of Windows are you using? (Please press Windows key+R and type winver and hit enter)

Please check and follow the steps below:

    1. Run Hardware troubleshooter

Please press Windows key + R

Paste the command below to the Run box and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

    1. Update or Reinstall the Display driver

Please press the Windows key + X

    Then click Device manager

    Kindly expand the Display Adapters

Right click and choose "Update Driver"

    Select Update driver Automatically.

If it says it's already updated, Choose "Browse my computer for driver"

and click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer " and click the old version of driver

If it will still the same, please uninstall it and restart your device.

    1. Let's try to refresh the explorer.exe

    On Windows 11:

Right click on start menu and choose Task Manager

Click Details Tab and end the task of explorer.exe

Then click Run New Task and type explorer.exe and hit enter

    On Windows 10
