On some sites, especially ones using JW player/Upcloud video buffers very badly while on others it is as smooth as it can be, it has been like this for the pass week on multiple sites, Do any ideas what might be causing this?

    Hi veli-matti,

    I'm Amr, an independent advisor.

There could be several reasons why video buffering is occurring on some sites

Here are a few possible causes:

    1. Internet connection: Slow internet speeds or a poor connection can cause video buffering. also, check if you are using VPN, it may cause the internet speed to slow down

You can try running a speed test to see if your internet connection is the issue.

    1. Browser

The browser you are using to access the sites may not be compatible with the video player.

You can try using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.

also, it is advisable to clear the browser cache

    1. Video player settings

The video player settings may be set to a higher quality than your internet connection can handle, causing buffering.

You can try adjusting the video quality settings to a lower resolution to see if that helps.

    1. Server issues

The server hosting the video may be experiencing issues, causing buffering.

This is more likely if the issue is occurring on multiple sites.

If none of these solutions works, it may be worth contacting the site's support team to see if they can provide any additional assistance.

I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.

    Thank you for the reply,

    sorry for the confusion

If you have set up your network to use Google DNS, you do not necessarily need to configure Google Chrome's DNS settings separately.

By default, Google Chrome uses the DNS settings of your operating system, which should now be set to use Google DNS.

I hope this answered your question

It does not really answer to how your browser's dns setting should be configured depending on what your network setting dns is. At least from what I see.

    Thank you for the reply,

Like I said earlier it depends on the server of the site as well, so if you made all the optimal steps to resolve the issue and the server has a problem then you will still have the same problem no matter what.

Regarding your second question, please refer to this link

Tried all the suggestions that I could, did not seem to have much effect at all.

BTW I'm using Google Chrome. How should my Chrome DNS be set up, if I for example have the 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 as my DNS? Does it need to be set up as like google public DNS or something else to get the most out of it?
