'Windows App Installer' is an app that is available on the Microsoft Store, it is an app that can be used to side-load apps using installers from outside the Microsoft Store, you would not need to install that app, if you do not intend to install Store apps from an offline installer.
Windows App installer !
Hi again, could someone explain please! I have just opened the Microsoft store and found a new app "Windows app installer"! Is this something I should download and use? At present I just go into the "Store "and download packages so what is the difference? There are one or two things like "Windows photo app and Windows media player" you can only remove using PowerShell. Will this app installer do the same job ? I have read you can only download to a desktop and I have a laptop or has that changed? I guess the main question is should I use it ? All this new technology is certainly taxing my brain (for a old guy) ha. It is a good job I have you guys to help me (thanks again)

Hi again, thanks to both of you for that "speedy reply " and info ! I normally update the "Store" app most days! I just happened to spot it this morning and was curious to what it was!
Thanks again
Brian

I suggest you always download all updates of Microsoft store. Windows app installer is Microsoft's app and part of Windows. 👍
