Hello Amira Elgharib
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
If the sound on your Lenovo laptop is very low, you can try to identify whether the problem is coming from hardware or software. Assuming your current laptop supports a 3.5mm wired headphone jack or has a Bluetooth headset. You can try connecting it to the headset and see how the low volume problem manifests itself. If everything behaves fine inside the headset, it could be a hardware problem with the laptop's external speakers themselves.
Alternatively, here are some areas you point to check:
- Check the application volume: sometimes the volume setting in a particular application may be set too low. Open the application you are using to play sound (e.g. media player, web browser) and check its volume setting. Make sure that the volume is turned up in the application.
- Check the physical volume controls: Some laptops have physical volume buttons or dials on the side or front. Find these controls and make sure they are set to the desired level.
- Update audio drivers: Outdated or faulty audio drivers may cause sound problems. Visit the Lenovo support website and search for the model number of your laptop. Find the latest audio driver for your operating system, download and install it.
- Disable audio enhancements: Some audio enhancements or effects may inadvertently lower the volume. To disable them, right-click the volume icon in the taskbar, select Sound, go to the Playback tab, right-click the audio device, select Properties, navigate to "Enhancements tab, then check the box "Disable all enhancements". As shown below:
- Check the sound settings: Open the Control Panel on your laptop and search for 'Sound' or 'Audio'. Click on the appropriate result to open the sound settings. Make sure the correct playback device is selected as the default device and check its properties for any other volume adjustments.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth considering contacting Lenovo support to see if your sound card hardware and speakers are faulty. They may have some specific insight into this.
Please feel free to let me know if you got any further updates, thanks.
