Laptop keeps scrolling down on its own

Recently, my computer will keep scrolling down by itself. It will just scroll to the bottom and it is impossible to scroll up. I don’t use an external mouse and just use the mousepad. I have zero clue on what is causing it but it is unlike that my touchpad is causing it. Pressing shift tab will stop it temporarily until the problem comes back again.

Good day! I'm John and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

When was the last time it worked properly?

Please try the following methods below

    1. Please try to disconnect any external device from your computer. If you have a controller connected, check if one of your controller's direction controlling stick is stuck in a certain position.
    2. You may also try the free edition of Malwarebytes to scan your system for any malware.

I have 2 laptops facing the same issue. One is Asus zenbook flip and the other one is Asus vivobook. The Zenbook had the issues since years ago while the vivobook started having the issue recently.
