Using Windows 10. When I save an image to a folder on my desktop. I get the error message You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Pictures folder instead? I would greatly appreciate any help you can give.

Hi there, I'm Erfan and I'll be happy to help.

I can suggest you few steps that you can take to resolve this issue.

Run the application as an administrator: Right-click on the application you're using to save the image (e.g., an image editor) and select "Run as administrator." This will give the application the necessary permissions to save files in restricted locations.

Check folder permissions: Right-click on the folder where you're trying to save the image and select "Properties." Go to the "Security" tab and click on "Edit." Ensure that your user account has the necessary permissions to write to the folder. If your account is not listed, click on "Add" to add your account and assign appropriate permissions.

Take ownership of the folder: If you still can't save to the folder, you can try taking ownership of it. Right-click on the folder, select "Properties," go to the "Security" tab, and click on "Advanced." In the "Advanced Security Settings" window, click on the "Change" link next to the owner's name. Enter your user account name in the "Enter the object name to select" field and click "Check Names" to verify it. Once your account is selected, click "OK" to take ownership of the folder. After that, you should be able to modify the permissions as needed.

Save to a different location: If all else fails, you can choose to save the image in a different folder, such as the Pictures folder as suggested in the error message. This folder typically has less restrictive permissions, and you may not encounter the same issue there.

Please take the steps above and let me know how it goes.

I hope this information could be helpful for you :)
