Laptop running very hot and sluggish, even a while after start up

I have been having this problem for a while now, but haven't found a solution to this yet. Every time after I start up my laptop, the CPU temperature instantly goes to 95°C and the performance is not great. Stuttering animations and even my mouse pointer on screen is skipping frames! You would think it's just the laptop getting itself ready in the background, since it wasn't in a sleep mode, but unfortunately it wouldn't cool down and the performance wouldn't improve either.

I did find that only if I restarted my laptop after this, the temperatures went down and the performance was better. But this isn't efficient at all, to start up and then restart your laptop....

My laptop has great specifications and is only 2 years old now and is running windows 11, but when I was running windows 10 at the first year I wasn't experiencing these problems.

    Thanks for the clarification.

This behavior seems to be caused by a problem with the computer's cooling system or an accumulation of dust.

When the processor reaches high temperatures, you can have a big loss of performance.

However, I didn't notice a high usage of the processes to cause this overheating. That's why I suspect a problem with the cooling system or an accumulation of dust.

An accumulation of dust on the heatsink and cooler can impact your device's thermal efficiency.

I can't determine for sure remotely. A physical check is necessary.

I suggest you consult a technician you trust or the authorized assistance from the computer manufacturer.

    Hi David,

Here's the screenshot after a fresh boot up. And once again, my cpu is at 95°C and won't cool down

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

After Windows boots, wait a minute and do the following:

    • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) in the "Processes" tab. Click at the top of the "CPU" column to sort processes by CPU usage.
    • Send a screenshot of the current state. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I've been offline.

    Thanks for the screenshot.

At the time of the capture, I see that Norton Security was making processor and disk usage. At this point, it doesn't seem to have much use for causing overheating.

At the time of this capture, was your computer running hot?

Has usage decreased after some time?

Have you instaled both Bios & driver updates from that laptop maker and not from any other source including Device Management or Win update "other updates"?

then set bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced

There may be a shortcut onyour system to their update utility
