Hi Eb,
I'm Amr, an independent advisor.
If you do not see the expected options in your display settings, there may be a faulty connection or the port itself is faulty that's because your PC did not detect any monitor
Here are a few things to check:
- Check the Cable
Ensure that the DVI to HDMI cable you're using is functioning correctly. You can test this by using it to connect another device, if one is available.
- Check the Monitor
Make sure the Acer monitor is working properly. You can do this by connecting it to another computer if possible.
- Check the HDMI Port
Ensure that the HDMI port on your Dell Inspiron 5490 AIO is working correctly. You can test this by connecting another HDMI device to it.
- Update Graphics Drivers
Your graphics drivers might need to be updated. To do this, go to the Dell website, look up your model, and download the latest graphics drivers.
- Check Display Settings Again
After checking the hardware and updating drivers, go back to your display settings. Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings". Scroll down to the "Multiple displays" section and see if the "Extend these displays" option is now available.
- Detect Monitor
In the same "Display settings" menu, you should see a "Detect" button. Click on this to see if Windows can detect the second monitor.
If you've tried all these steps and you're still having issues, it might be a good idea to contact Dell support for further assistance. They might have specific advice for your model of all-in-one PC.
I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.
