I recommend doing an "in-place upgrade". This will download Windows 10 installer files and use those to update and repair your system.

You can follow the video guide in the below link to know how to get it done:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/videoplayer/emb...

    1. Please visit this link : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
    2. There you will see an option "Download tool now"
    3. A media creation tool with the latest version will be downloaded.
    4. Open it in file location and run as administrator.
    5. Accept the terms and licenses.
    6. Select the "Upgrade this PC"
    7. And then the downloading will start.
    8. Press "Install" once done.

The system will restart several time and the updates will happen.

I've gone through this. I've done the DDU. I've done all that can be done. Is this a sign that my video card is bad?

NPFS.sys is the Named Pipe File system driver for Windows. Microsoft Windows NPFS driver should be located in the C:\windows\system32\drivers directory. The pdfs. sys is used to support your Windows hardware device driver NPFS Driver.

To troubleshoot this issue, it is recommended to update the Graphic Card drivers. I would request you update the graphic card from device manufacturer website/ Nvidia website.
