TPM Enabled in Bios, but not showing up in windows

I have a Windows 11 computer, and have been running Windows 11 for many months now, however when I went to install a new game I got error saying TPM 2.0 not installed, after checking sys info and device manager it appeared TPM was not enabled, however it is enabled in bios. I have tried restarting, uninstalling TPM and restarting, updating TPM through device manager (Although it said no update was available), updating BIOS, turning FTPM on and off in BIOS. Windows requires TPM 2.0 and BIOS says its enabled so it must be enabled and working, but why is it not showing up?

I am using a Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3070Ti, 32GB Ram, Windows 11 Home, and Aorus B550 Elite AX V2 Motherboard

Everyone with Ryzen has this issue currently.

Its a bug in Windows.. why no one is just saying that is beyond me.

Check Reddit. there are hundreds in the same boat.

Someone at some point will release an update to fix it.

    Using 5900x.

I did get the issue resolved, although unfortunately I cannot remember what I did. But here is the essential settings I have.

I believe the issue resides somewhere with CSM cannot be enabled at the same time as secure boot or AMD CPU fTPM? Maybe try copying some of my settings and seeing if it works for you.

(Sorry for the horrible image quality, I can't screenshot in BIOS)

I managed to get TPM 2.0 showing up in device manager, however secure boot isn’t showing up now, after some research online I found I needed to turn CSM support off in BIOS to bring up Secure boot menu, but even after enabling secure boot in BIOS it’s not showing up in Sys info still.

One interesting thing is the BIOS says secure boot is enabled but not active and “this mode change requires platform reset” at the bottom

Restart the PC and at startup you will get this message :

New CPU installed. fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed.

Press Y to reset fTPM. If you have Bitlocker or encryption enabled, the system will not boot without a recovery key.

Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot. fTPM will NOT enable in new CPU, you can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related keys and data”.

If Windows is not installed, press Y and continue with the installation.

If Windows is installed, press N, enter Windows and check if Bitlocker  or encryption is enabled (check tutorials on Youtube).

After you make sure Bitlocker  or encryption is disabled, restart the PC, go in BIOS - Miscellanous - Trusted Computing and enable Security Device Support.

At restart, press Y when you get the message above.

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm Microsoft user like you.

If the TPM is a TPM 2.0 and isn't detected by Windows, please verify that your computer hardware contains a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) that is Trusted Computing Group-compliant.

Also, ensure that in the UEFI settings, the TPM hasn't been disabled or hidden from the operating system.

If its enabled in UEFI settings then you can try to clear TPM keys and let Windows ReInitialize them.

In case of additional questions, reach out back to me, and I will be happy to help and try our best to resolve your issue.

    Best Regards,
    Prakash
