What happens with Windows 11 upgrade; does it demand Hotmail login?

I've seen what happens with a new Windows 11 system: it demands a Hotmail login, something I cannot accept because I switch back-and-forth between different Hotmail accounts. But what happens when Windows auto-upgrades from 10 to 11, with the former having been installed with local logins? Does it continue the Windows 10 scheme or demand a login monopoly?

    Hello, this is Emily.

It does ask for the Microsoft account, so that it can link your license to your Microsoft account as digital license.

Once the upgrade finishes, you can always go to Settings > Accounts > your info, and click on "Sign in as a local user instead" to strip the Microsoft account and switch back to local user, and your license is still fine as it is already linked.

Thanks, Emily. I had no idea that option existed. I will do that.

Yoou can use any valid email address for the win10/11 setup/log-in

Many apps need to be installed & run under a full win user admin account in order to funtion correctlly
