Windows 11 is significantly slower than Windows 10

Since upgrading to Windows 11, my system has slowed down.

Start up has slowed down.

Shut down has slowed down.

Every activity when using the laptop has slowed down.

Surely this cannot be right?

So I rarely jump over anyone providing help but in this case I just can't help it.

I'm sure rob is in the exact same boat I am. Yes we could do everything you suggest in section 2. Other than drivers, which have all been updated, there is nothing of any real value other then the usual check this regurgitation in this post.

If my PC was working perfectly fine before jumping from W10 to W11, Why would I start looking at things like maleware, hardware failures etc. the only thing, and I repeat, the only thing that was different from before my PC started working like a 386 was I went from 10 to 11.

My brand new lenovo i7 with a 13th gen i9, 32gig of ddr5 ram, and dual Samsung 990 pro ssd's is MUCH slower then my 2012 Dell XPS 8300 with a gen2 i7, and Samsung 850 pro drives.

I am very disappointed with the performance of win11, and yes I did a clean install just to be sure the problem was not something that came with the device. It made zero difference, this thing is still slower doing pretty much everything, takes almost double the time to boot, is slower shutting down, and takes MUCH longer to do simple things, like open windows explorer or outlook, even when its freshly booted and not running anything else.

Can I downgrade the license and run windows 10 on my new laptop?

Same! Actual HELP PLEASE!! I have an envy that has been lightening quick since the day I bought it and accidentally allowed the update to 11 a few months back. Now I get so bogged down just running one or 2 basic apps.

I think that Windows 11 is yet another retrograde step just like Vista was to XP.

I just could not believe how big and bloated Win 11 was.

I checked the "C" drive when I first switched my brand new computer on and Win 11 was occupying well over 50GB of disc space.

As you correctly state the revised "Menu" layout is atrocious and it is an absolute pain in the **** to use.

I think this is the absolute last windows OS that I will ever buy given we are being forced to spent vast amounts of money on newer, faster processors, Larger disc storage and increased memory just to allow Microsoft to fill it up with a very bloated and piss poor OS.

How do you explain the very slow Windows 11 speeds on a brand new Dell computer with everything factory installed?

I think Microsoft have done for windows 10 the same as they did to XP when they launched Vista.
