What downloads do I need to make in order to be able to run games?

I currently built a new pc and everything is running smooth, except for gaming. My games will not run. Is there any specific downloads I need to be able to run applications? I downloaded Visual C++ 2015-22 but that’s all. Also my system surpasses the requirements needed to run these games.

    Did the game show any error messages when it crashed?

    Yes for Modern Warfare when I click play it begins to start and then stops. For Fortnite it loads up for a little bit and before the loading screen pops up it crashes.

    Both platforms should automatically prepare the environment for you to run the game.

    What do you see when you can't start the game? Are there any error message pop-ups?

    Most games will automatically configure the runtime environment during installation. Where do you download your game from?
