About 1 to 2 months ago, this random glitch started happening. There is a gap between my browsing software. It happens to basically all my windowed fullscreen programs like Steam and Spotify. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? The included image shows the gap between the programs.

Hi, Your suggestion to Ctrl + Alt + Delete, then Lock, then Sign back in works. Thanks for the suggestion. That seems to be the only one that worked for me.

This gap constantly appears when you open program windows that were previously maximized to the screen's full height. This might be because of my 125% scaling. It is very unpleasant to experience such behavior...

No fix, but I have finally figured out the cause. They assigned invisible/transparent padding around the window borders in order to make them easier to grab with your mouse cursor. The gap is that extra transparent padding. I found a registry key where I can edit the padding, but unfortunately it hits a minimum and doesn't improve from there (as far as I can tell). I can, however, make it much much worse by adjusting it in the other direction and logging out/in again.

The registry location is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

The DWORD to adjust is PaddedBorderWidth

Positive numbers increase the padding so if you want to verify this is the issue like I did simply set it to something like 120. You'll have a much larger gap around the window with the cursor functioning exactly as you would expect it to grabbing the edge of the window. I haven't fiogured out how to make it completely disappear yet, but its nice to finally be on the right track after months of fighting with this.

Edit: Another quick hack, but still not a fix is hitting the Shift+Win+Up keys. This ONLY works if you want the window to extend fully from the top to bottom of the screen. This helps me since it's most often my browser window on the left half of my screen that's having the issue. It does not fix any Left/Right padding issues.

Hey ! I've the same issue as Mohammad Ali5, i've a little gap on the top of the taskbar on the home screen, it's not disturbing but that's a little bit weird
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Book 3 360, and when i'm on reverse screen mode (the taskbar is wider) and i didn't have this issue, only on legacy mode
    Anyone have a solution ?
