    Hello Mosken-

Thank you for reaching out to help with this matter. Here are the two screen shots I took per your request:

    Image

I also thought I needed to reinstall the HASP drivers so I already downloaded the latest and reinstalled them. Same issue. The problem seems to be, only one HASP dongle will work at a time. Before the 7/11/23 update I had both installed on the PC and running the programs without any issues (for years). After the update, I can only install one dongle at a time. If I install both only one dongle is seen but when installing one dongle it works without any issues. I test each dongle to make sure I don't have a bad USB dongle and both work fine alone. Only when both are plugged does the issue show.

For reference, these are both Sentinel HASP USB drivers. Here is a screen shot of that driver revision:

Again, thank you for your help.

    Roger

    Hello R Perron,

    Thanks for your reply.

Some security updates can't be uninstalled.

Try to follow this article to check whether have the recovery point before the update.

If you don't have it maybe contact the HASP is a good way to help you solve your problem.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Hello Mosken-

So I did try to uninstall the updates a few times but it just doesn't seem to uninstall them. After it reboots I still see the updates in the "uninstall updates" section. It's like it won't uninstall them.

Is there another way to uninstall these udpates?

    Roger

Have you tried uninstalling the system update for 2023.07.11 by following the above steps? Because if this anomaly is occurring after the update, it is possible that the update is the cause of the problem and you can try it.

Meanwhile, since there may be some user profile cache for the software in your current Windows account, you may create a new local account by following the steps below and switch to the newly created account to see if it works fine.

    • Create a local user account
    1. Select StartSettingsAccountsand then select Family & other users. (In some versions of Windows you'll see Other users.)
    2. Next to Add other user, select Add account.
    3. Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
    4. Enter a username, password, or password hint—or choose security questions—and then select Next.
    • Change a local user account to an administrator account
    1. Select Start > Settings>Accounts.
    2. Under Family & other users, select the account owner name (you should see "Local account" below the name), then select Change account type.
    3. **Note:**If you choose an account that shows an email address or doesn't say "Local account", then you're giving administrator permissions to a Microsoft account, not a local account.
    4. Under Account type, select Administrator, and then select OK.
    5. Sign in with the new administrator account.

Visit****Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support****for more details.

Note: If the new account is normal, please do not delete the old account before backing up the data of the old account to avoid any data loss.

Additionally, you may get help from the manufactory of the USB dongle, since there may be a compatible problem between the latest Windows updates and the HASP drivers. Hope your problem will be solved soon!

    Hello R Perron,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

Then check the Windows Update history. Win + R to open "Run", type "ms-settings:windowsupdate-history" and press Enter*, then check the recently installed updates, please take a screenshot of it, and include it in the next reply to help me understand your situation better.*

You can use FARO InTouch to try to repair the HASP driver. Visit Download and Install the SafeNet Sentinel HASP License Driver and FARO Remote Update System (RUS) - FARO® Knowledge Base for more details.

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). If the problem occurred after you install Windows system updates, you can uninstall the most recent update first and see if it works. "Win" logo key + "Q", enter "control" to open "Control Panel" (viewed by Category*) >* Programs > "Programs and Features" > "View installed updates", sort by date, select to uninstall recent updates, restart.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
