I have 3 win 11 PCs and they all are connected on my local network.  This HP PC normally works fine but about every 3 days it is not reachable through my network,  The PC does not lose internet access but my other PC cannot reach the this PC (Ping does not work).  The other PC do not have this problem and they all have the same OS.  I fix the problem by rebooting the PC and it again it is reachable for about the next 3 days.

The PC with the problem is HP ENVY 15t Quad TouchSmart

Any suggestions on a fix.

    Hello Neil,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

According to your description, it seems that your current problematic PC has a problem getting an automatic IP address, because normally your router (DHCP service) will reassign a new IP address to a computer on the LAN after 3 days, but only the current computer has a problem.

You can perform the following network-related steps on your current PC.

    1. Run the Network troubleshooter

    1. Select Start > Settings > System > TroubleshootOther troubleshooters.
    2. Under Most frequent, select Network & InternetRun, or select the button below to launch the Network & Internet Get Help feature.
    3. Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.
    • Restart your modem and wireless router. This helps create a new connection to your internet service provider (ISP).

When you do this, everyone that is connected to your Wi-Fi network will be temporarily disconnected. The steps you take to restart your modem and router can vary, but here are the general steps.

    2. Reset the network

Then you can reset the network. Please run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", type "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and type the following commands one by one.

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset
    netsh winhttp reset proxy

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

Or you can restart the router, or view/change the relevant settings in the router.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

I had the same problem this morning and I ran the networking trouble shooter and it found no problems.

I did find something new. I am not able to ping the HP PC from my other devices on the network (PCs & Phone), but I was able to ping the HP PC from the router. Does that give you any hint of the problem?

I have changed settings so that all PC do not have staic IPs, I reset the network, rebooted the router and followed all of your other suggestions.

I will now need to wait a few days to see if the problem reoccurs.

    Thanks for the suggestions

If the devices in the LAN do not need special IP address, I suggest you to turn on the DHCP service on the router side (you need to check the detailed operation steps on your router manufacturer's official website), which will assign IP address to each device and configure the network automatically.

Then set the IP address to be obtained automatically in the interface shown below for each computer. Win + Q to open the search box, type 'ncpa.cpl', press Enter to open the "Network Connections" window, select your network adapter, right-click > "Properties", double-click "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IP)", then Set as shown below.

Also have you tried to reset your computer network using the above commands? Because this will reset your network configuration information to rule out anomalies caused by your personalized settings.

Thanks for the response. I will follow your suggestions the next time that the problem occurs. I don't know if it makes any difference but the 2 PC that work fine have a static IP and the HP has a dynamic IP. I just changed it to static to see if that helps
