Thanks. I ran Bitdefender as Admin and the Advanced Threat Defense is no longer greyed out.
"Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\User\Downloads\Program.exe'. Check the spelling and try again." file error appears when installing a program
Hello,
Recently, I encountered this error:
I was attempting to install a program that I had downloaded (7-zip).
After clicking it and going through the UAC, this error popped up. I don't know if this is a problem with the architecture of my PC (it's x64), or it is something else. Google wasn't a help either, as most of the websites were just trying to get you to download their "problem fixer".
My first method was to follow what the error said, so I checked the file name, and sure enough, they both were the same.
(Note: I had moved the .exe file to my Documents folder)
I began to speculate why the error appeared when the file was in the same place as what the error said.
My second method was to install the same program but using the 32-bit version. However, I got the same message as before.
At that point, I gave up. Does anyone know how to prevent the error from occurring and halting a program install?
