    Hi Diaiaia

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Sorry for the trouble this might have caused. This should have been posted on the Windows Forum. However, here are a few potential causes and solutions:

Overheating: If your computer is overheating, it may make beeping sounds as a warning and slow down to prevent damage. Make sure your computer is well-ventilated and not covered by anything that could block its air vents. You can also try cleaning the vents and fans to remove any dust or debris that might be blocking airflow.

Hardware issues: Beeping sounds can also indicate a hardware problem, such as a failing hard drive or RAM. If you suspect a hardware issue, you may want to run a diagnostic test to check for problems. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, you can take your computer to a professional for help.

Malware or virus infection: A malware or virus infection can cause your computer to slow down and make beeping sounds. Make sure your antivirus software is up to date and run a full scan to check for infections. If you find any malware or viruses, follow the instructions provided by your antivirus software to remove them.

Too many programs running: If you have too many programs running at the same time, your computer may slow down and make beeping sounds. Try closing any programs or windows that you’re not using to free up resources.

if all this doesn't resolve it, you may need to contact support

https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?linkquery=pc%20making%20beeping%20sounds Click on contact support at the bottom Choose the product and services related to the issue and also the category Click on Confirm Then click on Chat with a support agent in your web browser

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas

Under any of the possible scenarios you described, wouldn't the system have a popup to explain the issue. If not that seems like a logical response.

Also, in my case it happens when the I've locked it and it's asleep. Very annoying. I don't want to have to shut down every time. So, if it's overheating, wouldn't it continue to beep when I wake it up?
