How do I screenshot in Windows 10 with automatic saving?

I have Windows 10 Pro and have been trying to take a screenshot with it automatically saving - Windows key + PrtSc does not work, which is a method I have always used on my laptop. I don’t like the snipping tool and would prefer to use the method I’ve always had, but if not possible I’m open to alternative options

Thank you for any advice on the topic.

    Hello,

I tried to do the first method and nothing happened - screenshots aren't saved anywhere. I can only take them and paste them somewhere, not actually save them and the screen doesn't even go gray when I press Windows key + PrtSc

    Hi williwy,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The Windows Key + PrtSc keys should automatically save the screenshots.

    1

Check if your screenshots are being saved to OneDrive instead of the Screenshots folder:

Select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area on the Taskbar, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon then Settings.

Go to the Sync and Backup tab.

Check whether to save screenshots to OneDrive, if they are, disable that

Then check if your screenshots are being saved on your PC again.

If that was not the problem:

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Please provide a screenshot of that Registry Editor page.
