How do I download it if it's not connecting to internet
Missing network adapter driver for windows 11
Hello,
I have a windows 11 Microsoft computer, and have lost the option to connect to wifi networks. I tried troubleshooting 'internet connections' and 'network adapter' and they both concluded that there was no connection to a 'driver'. I found network adapter in device manager and saw a bunch of files/downloads titled 'WAN Miniport...' but nothing identified as a network driver. I have no clue how this disappeared. For context, I had used the internet just a few days previous, then I lost power/connection from a storm and discovered this issue after my wifi was restored. I wondered if the software updates had corrupted something, but the most recent update was weeks ago. I installed the new update which changed nothing.
I have tried doing network resets and normal PC resets but nothing has reinstalled my driver. I don't even know what driver it was to reinstall it or where to do so. The brand of computer is Gateway, if that matters. How should I go about solving this?

2024-05-05T02:41:56+00:00 why do we even have to find a work around to install a common network driver, such as Intel or Realtek???
What a PITA POS. Just another reason to switch to Linux.

In Device Manager > Network adapters, do you see any item with the word wifi, wireless or wlan? If so, what's the full name?
Otherwise, go to Gateway's official support website to look for driver download, find your specific model there and download the wifi adapter driver, then install it. see if it brings back the wifi option.
If you need help finding the driver, please hold down Windows + R keys, type in msinfo32.exe and hit enter. Then share a screenshot of the System Information window. Thanks!

2024-02-17T17:46:07+00:00 Same problem, basically. Suddenly no internet and "no network hardware detected" or something like that when trying to troubleshoot. If you can't hook up to the internet with that particular machine you have to find another work around. So, upon further investigation on my phone, I found another suggestion: open settings, then network and internet, then advanced network settings, click on network reset, then reset now. A window pops up and says the computer will reset the network and restart in 5 minutes. We waited and viola! Internet again, no further problems.
